This is our standard Laser Cladding Machine, featuring six-axis linkage with X-Y-Z axis travel, rotation, tilting, and oscillation capabilities. It is suitable for Laser Cladding, overlay welding, and hardening of metal workpieces up to 800 × 400 × 400 mm. Similar to a Laser Marking Machine, it utilizes the high instantaneous energy of a laser, but its purpose is not surface marking, but rather melting and depositing metal powder onto the target workpiece to form a dense metal layer. This can replace traditional processes such as chrome plating for rust prevention; it can also use welding materials such as tin to perform large-width overlay welding that is difficult to achieve with conventional laser welding machines. When not using metal powder, the equipment can also function like a high-power Marking Machine, using high-energy lasers to perform surface heat treatment on metals and alloys such as steel. This process causes carbon atoms to precipitate from deep within the workpiece and accumulate near the surface, resulting in a dark gray appearance change and increased hardness. This process is also known as laser hardening.
